For clients referred into DRP
DAAS also provides a substance misuse counselling service which you can ask your DRP key worker about. This service will help you understand some of the underlying factors which may have contributed to your substance misuse and help you work through these in order to maximise your recovery. Once allocated to your key worker, he or she will look with you at the best options and make a referral into the substance misuse counselling service on your behalf. The counselling service is BACP affiliated and your counsellor will be a BACP member with specialist substance misuse experience and training. You will be provided with up to 12 sessions on a one-one basis, with an option to increase this in discussion with the counsellor and your key worker. DAAS can also offer you some complimentary therapies such as auricular acupuncture or hypnotherapy. You will also be provided with information about recovery support and groups in your area.
